Casinos, gambling houses in Namibia have been given a final opportunity to settle outstanding gambling levies and fees before the April 30, 2026 deadline. The directive, issued under Public Notice No. 001 of 2026, warns that failure to comply will trigger immediate disciplinary action, including penalties, suspension, or withdrawal of licences. The notice applies to all licensed operators, from casinos and gambling houses to bars.
The Gambling Board emphasized that the measure is intended to ensure timely and accurate payment of levies in line with Namibia’s gaming laws. The notice, released on January 23, cites Sections 61 and 62 of the Gaming and Entertainment Control Act, 2018 (Act No. 13 of 2018), along with Regulations 25 and 29 of the Gambling and Gambling Activities Regulations, providing a clear legal basis for enforcement.
