Gabon’s State Gaming Operator Launches Weekly Public Engagement Initiative

GABON- La Gabonaise des Jeux (GDJ), Gabon’s state-owned gaming operator, has launched a weekly public engagement initiative to answer questions about its operations and planned gaming offerings as it takes shape within the country’s restructured gambling sector.

The initiative, titled “Your Questions, Our Answers,” was announced on the operator’s official Facebook page. GDJ said its team would respond to public enquiries every Wednesday, encouraging users to submit questions through the comments section.

Established in December 2025, GDJ is advancing its operational plans following its first board meeting on 7 August 2026, where it approved its strategic development plan, operating budget, investment budget and internal regulations.

During the initiative’s first round, the operator addressed questions about its mandate, describing itself as Gabon’s public operator responsible for the country’s entertainment, gambling and money gaming sector.

Responding to enquiries about the types of betting and games it intends to introduce, GDJ said it was preparing a diverse range of offerings, which it expects to make available in the coming days.

The public engagement initiative builds on the operator’s priorities for the development of Gabon’s gaming sector, outlined in September. These include strengthening security, protecting players, combating illegal gambling practices and contributing to the country’s economic development.

Through the weekly question-and-answer sessions, GDJ is seeking to establish direct communication with the public while providing greater clarity on its role and planned activities as Gabon’s gaming sector undergoes restructuring.
