GHANA’S NATIONAL LOTTERY AUTHORITY MARKS CUSTOMER SERVICE WEEK WITH SYMPOSIUM ON AI, WELLBEING AND GOING THE EXTRA MILE

Ghana – National Lottery Authority (NLA) marked Customer Service Week from October 5 to 9. The programme focused on customer commitment and staff wellbeing. It also explored the changing role of artificial intelligence at work. Organisers chose the theme “The Extra Mile.”

The celebration began on Monday, October 5. An official launch opened the week. Director-general Mohammed Abdul-Salam attended, along with management and staff. The launch also featured a cake-cutting ceremony. Organisers unveiled the event’s official backdrop

Director-General Urges Staff to Go Further

Abdul-Salam used the launch to set a clear tone. He told staff that excellent service goes beyond formal duties. According to an NLA press release, it includes returning calls as promised. It also means staying available to customers and answering enquiries quickly. In addition, staff should support colleagues in other departments.

As a result, the message was simple. Every employee can improve the customer experience.

Symposium Examines AI and Wellbeing

After the launch, staff gathered at Brennan Hall for a symposium. Presentations covered health and wellbeing. They also looked at the changing world of work in the age of AI.

Dr Sompa Nelson Otabil spoke on health and wellbeing. He highlighted why employers must look after staff. IT consultant Richard Kennedy Oduro then addressed the room. His topic was “Reimagining Work in the Age of AI: Preparing Professionals to go the Extra Mile with artificial intelligence.” He explored how professionals can use AI to improve their work.

Fun Activities Build Teamwork

The Customer Service Week programme also had a lighter side. Staff took part in interactive games and cultural performances. A nostalgic fashion day added colour. A reggae karaoke session closed out the activities.

The NLA designed these events with clear goals. They aimed to promote excellent customer service. They also supported staff wellbeing and teamwork. Finally, they helped build stronger relationships among employees.
