NLGRB, Uganda Media Centre Join Forces to Promote Responsible Gaming

UGANDA- Uganda’s National Lotteries and Gaming Regulatory Board (NLGRB) is seeking stronger public awareness of gaming regulation and responsible gambling through closer collaboration with the Uganda Media Centre.

The two institutions discussed opportunities to work together to improve public understanding of Uganda’s gaming laws, promote responsible gambling practices and encourage informed participation in the country’s gaming sector.

Uganda Media Centre Executive Director Alan Kasujja expressed support for the NLGRB’s initiatives and welcomed greater collaboration between the two institutions.

“We are sold on the Board ideas and are open to collaboration. We are ready to support the initiatives and believe the partnership will bring meaningful impact,” Kasujja said.

The engagement reflects the growing role of public education and strategic communication in strengthening gambling regulation. Through collaboration with the Uganda Media Centre, the NLGRB could reach a wider audience with information on gaming regulations, responsible gambling and the potential risks associated with gambling.

For the regulator, improving public awareness is an important part of creating a safer and more responsible gaming environment. Clear and accessible information can also help players understand their rights, regulatory requirements and the importance of making informed decisions.

The engagement comes as Uganda continues to strengthen oversight of its gaming industry, with greater emphasis on regulatory compliance, consumer protection and responsible gambling.

The NLGRB described the discussions as an important step towards expanding the impact of its regulatory and public-awareness initiatives through institutional collaboration.
