Gaming Operators Call for Fairer Regulations, Stronger Action Against IllegalBetting Platforms
Gideon Odusola, Technical Director of Golden Chance Lotto, says illegal operators
remain one of the biggest threats to Africa’s gaming industry, diverting revenue
from licensed businesses and undermining compliance efforts.
Speaking at GTSA 2026 in Nairobi, he raised concerns about excessive regulations,
taxation, and compliance requirements that can make it difficult for legal
operators to compete effectively.
Odusola therefore uses the medium to call for stronger action against illegal
platforms, standardized compliance measures, and a level playing field that
supports fair competition and sustainable industry growth across Africa.
