Gaming Tech Summit Africa Postpones Dakar 2026 Edition
SENEGAL- Gaming Tech Summit Africa (GTSA) has postponed its Dakar 2026 event, which was scheduled to take place from November 25 to 27, with new dates yet to be announced.
In a statement issued on October 28, the organizers said the decision was made after careful consideration by the summit’s leadership team. No specific reason was provided for the postponement.
GTSA said updated information, including revised event dates, will be shared through its official website and social media platforms. The organizers also confirmed that partners, sponsors, speakers and registered delegates will be contacted directly regarding the next steps.
The Dakar event was set to mark GTSA’s first edition focused on Francophone Africa and was expected to bring together regulators, government agencies, national lotteries, gaming operators, technology providers and payment companies to discuss developments in Senegal’s gaming market and the wider Francophone African gaming industry.
The summit represented the next phase of GTSA’s regional expansion following three successful editions held in Nairobi, Kenya. The most recent Nairobi event took place in June 2026 under the theme Building Africa’s Sustainable & Scalable Gaming Tech Industry.
Since its launch in 2024, GTSA has grown into one of Africa’s prominent gaming and technology industry gatherings. Organizers say more than 1,500 participants have attended the three Nairobi editions, with the 2025 event attracting delegates from 22 African countries, over 50 speakers and representatives from more than 25 regulatory authorities.
Despite the postponement, GTSA reaffirmed its commitment to hosting the Dakar edition and thanked partners, stakeholders and prospective attendees for their support and understanding. The organizers said they look forward to welcoming industry representatives when the rescheduled event takes place.
