IAGR 2026: AiA Champions Collaborative Approach to Betting Integrity in Africa
BOTSWANA– The African iGaming Alliance (AiA) has reinforced the importance of collaboration in protecting the integrity of sports betting across Africa during the International Association of Gaming Regulators (IAGR) Annual Conference 2026 in Lima, Peru.
During a panel discussion titled “Sports Wagering Integrity, Suspicious Betting, and Event-Market Convergence,” AiA CEO Peter Emolemo Kesitilwe moderated a conversation on the growing challenges of identifying suspicious betting activity and safeguarding markets as traditional sports wagering increasingly converges with event-based betting products.
A key focus of the discussion was the need for stronger cooperation among regulators, operators, sports organizations, and integrity bodies to effectively combat betting-related risks and preserve public confidence in the industry.
Commenting on the issue, AiA emphasized that effective protection depends on clear reporting requirements, actionable intelligence, and timely information sharing among stakeholders.
Held from October 19 to 22 under the theme “Steady Hands, Shifting Ground: Advancing Regulation in a Connected World,” the IAGR Annual Conference gathered gambling regulators, policymakers, and industry representatives from around the world to discuss emerging technologies, illegal gambling, market integrity, enforcement strategies, and cross-border regulatory collaboration.
