ISJ, INAC Partner to Strengthen Efforts Against Underage Gambling
ANGOLA– The Institute for Gambling Supervision (ISJ) and the National Children’s Institute (INAC) have agreed to strengthen institutional cooperation aimed at protecting children and adolescents from the risks associated with gambling.
The commitment followed a working meeting between officials from both institutions, including INAC Director-General Paulo Kalesi, ISJ Deputy Director-General Cláudio Paulo, and Afonso Silva, Head of the Department of Supervision at ISJ.
The meeting focused on identifying areas of mutual interest and laying the groundwork for closer collaboration to prevent minors from accessing gambling activities.
A key area of the proposed cooperation is the development of stronger prevention and awareness initiatives to address children’s exposure to gambling and circumstances that could facilitate their access to gambling activities.
As part of the collaboration, ISJ and INAC intend to develop joint awareness campaigns, exchange relevant information and establish mechanisms for closer institutional coordination. The measures are expected to support a more coordinated approach to safeguarding children and adolescents from gambling-related risks.
Both institutions reaffirmed the importance of joint, preventive and responsible action, with the protection of minors remaining at the centre of their efforts.
