NWGB Collaborates with SARGF to Promote Responsible Gambling Awareness
SOUTH AFRICA- The North West Gambling Board (NWGB), in collaboration with the South African Responsible Gambling Foundation (SARGF), Consumer Affairs and Liquor Regulators, has taken its responsible gambling awareness campaign to Rustenburg.
The outreach, held at Tic Tac Slots, brought stakeholders directly into the gambling environment to educate patrons on responsible gambling and informed decision-making.
The campaign encouraged patrons to treat gambling as entertainment while ensuring it does not compromise their financial wellbeing or future. Participants received guidance on setting gambling limits, making informed choices, protecting their finances, and understanding their rights and responsibilities as gambling consumers.
The engagement also highlighted the importance of recognising signs of problematic gambling and knowing where to seek professional support.
SARGF reminded patrons that free and confidential counselling is available to people experiencing gambling-related challenges through its 24-hour toll-free helpline at 0800 006 008 and WhatsApp support on 076 675 0710.
According to the organisers, the active participation of patrons underscored the importance of taking responsible gambling awareness initiatives directly into communities and gambling venues.
The NWGB and SARGF said they will continue promoting responsible gambling and encouraging individuals who may be struggling with gambling to seek professional help.
