Senegal’s LONASE and ASP Open Talks on Nationwide Security Cooperation for Lottery Infrastructure
Senegal- National Lottery operator (LONASE) has taken a key step recently. The organisation moved to strengthen security around its nationwide infrastructure. LONASE opened talks with the Agency for Proximity Security Assistance (ASP). Together, both organisations established a technical committee. This committee will develop the proposed cooperation framework going forward.
This development follows an important meeting held on August 27. LONASE Director General Abdourahmane Baldé Doura attended personally. ASP Director General Seydina Oumar Touré also took part in these discussions. The meeting took place at the ASP’s headquarters in Senegal.
Technical Committee to Shape Cooperation
The newly formed ad hoc committee brings together key personnel from both sides. It comprises technical officials from LONASE and the ASP. According to DirectActu, this committee has a clear mandate. It will examine the modalities of future cooperation carefully. The committee will also formulate proposals for implementing this partnership.
This meeting formed part of a broader working mission. The mission focuses specifically on securing LONASE infrastructure across Senegal. According to DakarMedias, both institutions explored several key areas. These included pooling resources and sharing valuable expertise. More efficient use of public resources also featured in these discussions.
LONASE Highlights ASP’s Territorial Network
Baldé highlighted a specific advantage during the meeting. He pointed to the ASP’s territorial network as particularly valuable. This network offers real potential for developing nationwide cooperation. It could help LONASE secure infrastructure across the entire country effectively.
ASP Director General Touré also welcomed these productive discussions. He highlighted his agency’s proximity-security expertise specifically. Touré also noted the ASP’s operational network as a key strength. Both factors could prove valuable for this proposed cooperation.
Coordinated Interventions Under Consideration
Both organisations are now considering coordinated interventions going forward. Their broader objective centers on improving security effectiveness. This applies specifically to arrangements protecting LONASE infrastructure nationwide. At the same time, both parties want to optimise public resources efficiently.
This initiative aims to achieve two important goals simultaneously. First, it should strengthen institutional synergies between LONASE and the ASP. Second, it should improve protection for the lottery operator’s infrastructure. Together, these outcomes would benefit both organisations significantly.
Initial Step Toward Formal Partnership
This meeting represents an important first step for both organisations. It marks the beginning of a potential LONASE-ASP security partnership. The technical committee now faces a clear task ahead. It must develop concrete proposals for putting this cooperation into practice. These next steps will determine how the partnership ultimately takes shape.
