Guinea Gambling Regulator Moves to Digitalise Betting Points of Sale

GUINEA– Guinea’s gambling regulator is exploring the digitalisation of betting points of sale as part of efforts to modernise industry oversight, improve operational monitoring and promote responsible gambling.

The Regulatory Authority for the Gaming and Similar Practices Sector (ARSJPA) discussed the initiative during a working session with a delegation from Sharp Vision on July 22, according to an announcement published by the regulator on LinkedIn.

At the meeting, Sharp Vision presented a proposed digital point-of-sale application designed to modernise the management of gambling activities, strengthen monitoring of betting operations and improve the effectiveness of Guinea’s regulatory framework.

The proposed system forms part of broader efforts to introduce digital solutions into the country’s gambling sector. According to the ARSJPA, the initiative is intended to support greater efficiency and strengthen regulatory oversight through technology.

The discussions also covered a proposed SMS awareness campaign aimed at promoting responsible gambling among citizens. Both regulatory bodies examined how the messages could be distributed widely to reach gambling customers and raise awareness around responsible betting practices.

The SMS initiative is expected to complement the regulator’s broader efforts to strengthen responsible gambling and consumer awareness through digital channels.
