South African Casinos Face June 30 AML Compliance Reporting Deadline
South African casinos have until June 30 to submit anti-money laundering (AML) compliance information to the Financial Intelligence Centre (FIC) under its 2026 Risk and Compliance Return (RCR) reporting framework
The RCR is an online self-assessment process that requires regulated institutions to disclose their exposure to money laundering, terrorist financing, and proliferation financing risks, as well as the measures they have implemented to manage and mitigate those risks.
For casinos, the 2026 reporting cycle covers activities conducted between April 1, 2023, and March 31, 2026.
Casinos are among the first group of accountable institutions required to meet the June 30 deadline, alongside trust and company service providers, credit providers, and crypto asset service providers.
The FIC has set a later deadline of July 31 for non-casino gambling operators to submit their compliance returns.
The reporting process forms part of South Africa’s broader efforts to strengthen financial crime controls, improve regulatory oversight, and ensure compliance with anti-money laundering standards across regulated sectors.
