South Sudan Eyes Gaming Sector Rollout With Emphasis on Responsible Gaming
Speaking at the Gaming Tech Summit Africa (GTSA) 2026, Apu Deng from the country’s Gaming Department shared that South Sudan Government is eager to learn from regional and global peers in the gaming sector.
As a policy advisor within the Ministry of Finance, Deng emphasized the importance of adopting best practices to shape effective policies. He noted that responsible gaming remains a challenge, as operators initially acted without regulation and consumer protections were lacking.
“Responsible gaming is a vital part of the industry, and we are committed to applying it as we grow,” Deng said, underscoring South Sudan’s determination to build a safe and sustainable gaming ecosystem.
